ECON 586 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is more than ever essential for companies. Domestic and Multinational companies need to comply, report and demonstrate how they deal and take action on national and international regulations and expectations on the environment and human rights landscape. This course aims to build the understanding and capacity of students to analyze policy-making in ESG and economic activity, and how the private sector plays a key role in fostering sustainable development. In this "hands-on" course, students will learn how they can support this work and how companies can use students' skills set to demonstrate compliance and risk management. Students can expect some theory, lots of debates and discussions, company visits and practical exercises that help deepen their ESG understanding.
