DR 565 Playwriting I
For the Summer 2025 offering of this course, students will read about effective playwriting practices, write and share drafts of one act plays suitable for performance in educational settings, read aloud scenes written by other class members, revise drafts based on class discussions, and complete the course with a strong draft of a play.
Study and practice of dramatic writing for the stage. Selected plays and productions, and scenes written by class members are analyzed in class discussions. Class members regularly read aloud scenes written by other class members. Repeatable for credit.
