POL 290 Introduction to International Political Economy

This course introduces students to the global market economy in which businesses large and small compete today. Students will learn to navigate enormous complexity in areas including: understanding of diverse economic, political and social environments; seminal theories of trade and investment; bilateral and multilateral integration; global value chains; government interference in free exchange; political risks to direct investment; ethics and corruption; and currencies and foreign exchange markets.
