MLA 312 Torts

Deals with civil wrongs (or injuries) and the remedies for those wrongs. Covers intentional torts, negligence, defamation, and product liability. This course is study of tort law, including topics of intentional torts, negligence, products liability, strict liability, and defamation. Students will examine personal injury claims, the liability related to tort claims, defenses, and remedies arising from civil actions. Course Objectives: Demonstrate understanding of the various tort claims and their associated defenses and remedies. Demonstrate understanding of the standards of conduct and duty resulting in tortious liability. Proficiency in identifying the elements of tortious conduct. Identify and utilize the documents necessary for tort litigation.
