MIS 225 Network Security Concepts

The focus of this course is the identification of threats and vulnerabilities. Students will learn strategies to prevent data breaches including social engineering concepts. Essential to network security is determining and assessing risk, understanding compliance, regulations, best practices. Determining potential risk to an organization¿s network and understanding how to conduct an assessment is part of the content of this course. This includes access control, intrusion detection, application security assessment; compliance and operational security; cryptography, and the basics of blockchain.
