CEE 317 Multi-Modal Transportation

To be efficient and fair a transportation system must serve diverse demands. Multimodal transportation planning considers various air, water, and land transportation modes for all ages and abilities including roadways, public transportation, bicycling, pedestrians, maritime, and aircraft. This course will explore the planning, design, and operation of these systems through a multidisciplinary perspective. In this course, we will focus on the need, purpose, and design for multimodality while discussing a diverse range of contemporary transportation issues and best practices (e.g. ADA accessibility, curbside management, complete streets, intermodal efficiency).
