SRES 201 Advanced Topics in Economics I

This course covers advanced topics, themes, and conceptual frameworks in economic thought: consumer theory, theory of the firm, perfect competition and market structure, externalities and public goods, information economics, and game theory and strategic behavior. Readings will be drawn wherever possible from primary source material (e.g. academic papers) with special attention given to the "great ideas" in economic thought. Selections from monographs and textbooks may also be used.
