SOC 518 Current Issues in Juvenile Delinquency

The course will examine some of the formal and informal institutions designed to control youth offenders in the modern era. It explores how theorists and scientists have explained and studied juvenile offenses. It examines juvenile delinquency from gender, race/ethnicity, and class perspectives. It also surveys methods of prevention.
