PHYS 668 Physics of Materials
A study of many-particle systems. Topics include review of statistical mechanics, electronic states in crystals, conformational statistics of polymers and membranes, liquid crystals, superconductivity, phase transitions, defects, glasses and other frustrated systems, Brownian motion, dynamic modes, and ordering kinetics. Pre-requisites: permission of instructor.
