BIOL 530 Molecular Techniques
This course focuses on the basic principles of molecular biology and genetic engineering that revolutionized biology and biotechnology. These include: DNA as the genetic material, plasmid vectors, restriction enzymes, polymerase chain reaction, and bioinformatics. It consists of a series of connected experiments, each hypothesis driven and led to an important breakthrough. The experiments are well integrated with the lectures such that the students will have a chance to test the concept learned in the classroom.
