ART 509 Metal Sculpture
The welded steel and cast metal sculpture creation are the focus of this course.
Students will gain a hands-on introduction to the methods of constructing and
fabricating metal sculpture. They will explore a survey of historical methods of making
metal sculpture through illustrated lectures, and field trips to local art museums and
galleries; and they will be challenged to create works that are self-expressive and
engaged with aesthetic concerns in their studio assignments. This course may be
repeated for credit.
