ARPL 605 Furniture Design: Form and Concept
Although the course title indicates the design and production of furniture, this is not the main objective. Students will explore materials, structure, mechanics, integration of scale and form, and strength of concept. Lectures will introduce ideas, objectives, and precedents. The lectures will parallel studio and model shop work, and include technical and theoretical topics. Projects include small-scale models to finished full-scale pieces.
