SPAN 208 Advanced Spanish for HealthCare II
Spanish 208 is the second of the two advanced medical Spanish courses required for the Spanish for Healthcare Certificate. With their broad coverage of health and care,
SPAN 207 and
SPAN 208 are also open to any student wishing to develop a working knowledge of the language for medical and social work settings. A strong focus is placed on developing oral and listening comprehension skills for effective communication with patients through the practice of targeted language structures and realistic role-playing exercises.
SPAN 208 covers the language structures needed to provide comprehensive patient care, which includes assessment and monitoring; documentation and coordination; patient advocacy, education, and emotional support.
Note:
SPAN 207 and
SPAN 208 are not sequential and may be taken in either order, though it is recommended that
SPAN 207 be taken first.

SPAN 104HC or
