Student Medical Insurance Policy

This policy is also published online at https://policies.catholic.edu/students/studentlife/healthinsurance.html

I. Policy

Health insurance is required for all domestic students billed by the University for 12 or more credits and all international students, regardless of the number of billed credits. A student health insurance plan, provided by a third party, is available for purchase through the University. The plan is a student-focused, affordable health insurance policy that protects students within the limits of the plan. In all cases, the terms and conditions of the plan are subject to the mission and policies of the University, including its identity as a Catholic university and the University's commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Students who are required to be in the University's Student Health Plan will be enrolled in and charged for the plan unless a waiver is completed demonstrating that they are covered by a comparable health insurance policy. This waiver must be completed for each year of enrollment by the established waiver deadline. Information on the deadline, cost, and scope of the University’s Student Health Plan, and the specific terms of the insurance policy is on the Student Health Insurance Page.

The student health plan charge is not refundable or transferable.
